Did you know that the audiobook version of "Under the Big Black Sun" features every single author reading their own chapter?
Pitchfork premiered the brand new video for "A Little Help" today. Shot in rural California, the video was directed by David Doobinin, who also directed the video for "Get On Board".
John's words about the video:
"There is beauty & simplicity in hard labor. Since the days of Woody Guthrie, farm worker rights have been an issue. The song was inspired by the timeless image of workers in the field which we in California see frequently. It was filmed by Dave Doobinin outside Salinas, CA; home of the John Steinbeck Museum. I wanted people to remember that every piece of fruit & every berry they eat was touched by a human hand."
John Doe’s UNDER THE BIG BLACK SUN has hit the Los Angeles Times bestsellers list at #16 in hardcover nonfiction!
